Tabata Class kicked my butt!
First, a little confession....before yesterday, the last time I was at the gym was December 10! Yea, I know, very bad. Between being sick and going to new York, the time just flew by. I finally went yesterday and felt so much better. Today, I got on the scale and was greeted with 145 lbs! Seriously? I have been holding steady at 142-143 the whole holiday season and go back to the gym and scale is up! Great!
I know that it is probably water weight as my muscles are quite sore but I also know that I have not really been "on my game" if you will, regarding eating healthy and exercising. This is actually a good wake-up call for me. In order for me to continue to be successful in maintenance, I have to be diligent with watching what I am eating and most important, I have to keep moving!
Oh, and one more thing....I resolved this year that I wasn't going to keep a daily weight log anymore. I'd be like a normal person who isn't addicted to weighing herself every day. Yea, well, the hell with that! I do better when I jump on the scale and by writing it down, it is real for me so I will keep doing that too. If it ain't broke, I'm not fixin it so there!
So, getting back to Tabata class, I went this morning and I know it's gonna hurt when I'm feeling it already. I had never taken a Tabata class although I have done Tabata during personal training. The class used to be 60 minutes but I saw they changed it to 45 so I went for it. It was intense, but fun. Bottom line, I will be taking it 2 x a week going forward. I think it's good to change up my exercise and this is definitely doing that. Plus, my favorite instructor, Herman, is teaching it :)

Awesome job getting back into the routine of exercise :)
great to hear from you jacquie!
never heard of Tabata, must go google now :)
I could not agree more that it is awesome that you are back in the gym! I also get that it is so hard when you are sick!
Hugs!
Hopefully getting back to your regular routine will keep the sickness away.
Go you for doing a new class. Sounds like fun.
I always think of Tabata as 4 minute intervals. 45 minutes sounds like torture! :) Go you!!
Hi Jacquie! Tabata is awesome, so cool you are doing it! Stick with it!
Hi, new to your blog. I'm not familiar with Tabata but now you have me curious, I'll have to look it up.
I too weight myself every morning. I think it's a good thing because I can get a handle on the way my weight fluctuates from day to day.
I new too! I just celebrated my one month banivversary and I've weighted every morning since then. Is it better to only weigh once weekly oy everyday?
I just read about you on the superstar blog. Congratulations!!
I have my final weigh in of my 6 month medically supervised diet tomorrow and then I will be waiting to see if insurance will pay.
However, after 6 months of reading lapband blogs, I'm really nervous about all the pb'ing and struggles getting to the sweet spot. I'm really considering getting the sleeve even though my insurance won't pay. Even my surgeon suggests the sleeve over the band. After reading your story, I'm even more convinced that the sleeve is the way to go even if I have to self pay. It seems so much "easier" in terms of not having all the too loose, too tight issues. Any other insight would be much appreciated.
Like you, my BMI is in the 34-35 range. I'm also a month shy of 48.
Again, congratulations on getting to your goal. I can only imagine how awesome that must feel.
