As far as the test goes, my husband spoke to my doctor afterwards and he said I still have a little swelling in the base of m Esophagus but everything looks great. Absolutely no dilation, or slippage and absolutely no erosion. THANK YOU GOD! However, he wants to take it really slow with refilling me and only gave me .5 cc! Really? I will be calling his office tomorrow to see when I can get in for a little more. When you unfilled me, I had 2.6 cc's in my 4 cc band. My first fill after surgery was 1.8 cc's for comparison sake.
All in all, the almost 4 weeks of being unfilled was not terrible. Keep in mind that during this time I was in Las Vegas for 4 days and NY for 11 days. I gained a total of 5 lbs from my lowest weight the day I was unfilled. I told my doctor that and he said I probably didn't "gain" anything as I was dehydrated and just being able to drink water again cause an increase on the scale.
In any event, I have some fill now and I plan to keep losing these next 12 lbs with a combination of exercise and watching what I eat. If that's a diet, so be it...this Mama has to do what she's got to do!

Well I'm sorry that they couldn't get the IV in, that's a serious pain (literally and figuratively)!!
But - YAY - that there are no real issues. I'd be bummed with only the .5cc fill too - but since you still have some swelling, it's probably best to go slowly!
I've been waiting to hear how it went, and I'm so very glad it went well (IV excluded).
I am SOOO happy for you, jacquie!!!
Yeah the IV stuff.. not fun.. and kind of gave me hospital flash backs.. BUT so glad you are OK.. once you get that green light .. then fill er up.. thanks for your comments.. I am still doing liquids and they are going down fine.. I am still contemplating a bit unfill.. but I figure if I can swallow.. and keep fluids.. I am ok..
I'm so glad that you got a good report, but the test you had is no fun! Also, some technicians just aren't as good as others at slipping an IV into the vein. I've had the same experience. Best of luck to you now. Hope you can get more of a fill in the near future.
Glad the test is over, but sorry to hear about the multiple sticks. That sucks and glad you gave them hell.
Despite the multiple sticks, I am so thrilled to hear that there are no major issues and that your band is getting all filled up again!!
You're going to do this!! I just know it!
I'm so glad there's not slip! I think it's a good plan to go slow, you've had lot's of issues of being too tight. Maybe slow will get you to a just right spot without so much aggravation. Hang in there!
the IV thing sucks, I have to go through that all the time when I have blood drawn or anything, my veins suck!
I think the doc is right to start your fill amount out so small though. that area just went through a dramatic event. with there still being some swelling it is better to be carful then fill to much to fast then be right back in the same boat as before. I do see how its frustrating though. Hang in there.
Glad everything looks OK. The small fill sucks...hopefully they can get you in soon for another one. I have no doubt that you'll be losing again in no time.
So glad you are alright! First things first. Secondly, you are such a stud superstar on the weight loss front that you will have those 12 lbs down in NO time!
WOOOOHOOOO BABY! Makes me feel good for you!
Stellar news!!!
Oh my gosh! I can't believe I just now realized that I wasn't following you! I couldn't believe it! Crapola! Well I am now!
I am glad your test went well and there were no major issues. Small fills do suck but I think you are better safe than sorry!
Jacquie I think you did GREAT in only going up 5 lbs with a total unfill! You definitely are strong!! SOOO glad all the tests came back alright!! :)
