2.5 lbs up and does anyone have a Kindle?

At least I knew this would happen when I started to eat and drink again. No worries....I have increased my working out to 5 60 hour sessions a week so this should get the scale moving down again. Thank you Draz for the latest exercise challenge! I need this.

On Tuesday I am going for my upper GI series test. What can I expect? I have no idea how they do the test although I do know that I have to drink barium. They told me it takes about an hour. Am I nekkid during the test? Am I laying down? Any help or advice is appreciated!

Providing that all is well with my band, I think I will be getting a little of the unfill put back in on 8/25 when I go back to the doctor. I understand why we took so much out but I would think that in 3 weeks, all the swelling will have gone down to the point where he can put in a little of the fill, yes? I am hopeful because right now, I can eat EVERYTHING. I did feel a little restriction at dinner last night and it was such a good feeling! Thankfully, I am measuring and keeping my calories under 1200.

I cannot believe that Chicago is in about 5 weeks! I remember when it was first mentioned thinking that it would never get here! Well, here we all come. I cannot wait to go shopping for something to wear to the dinner on Saturday. I figure I will be about 38- 40 lbs down by then and will need a new dress! I also need to go shopping for jeans. Nothing fits! I am not complaining though!

Any advice on Kindles? I just ordered one from Amazon. I've been kicking it around in my head for a while. We just booked 4 nights in Vegas where Steve will attend the SEMA Car show and 7 nights at Sandals Exhuma resort in the Bahamas for November and I will be needing a lot of reading material as we plan on doing NOTHING in the Bahama's except laying on the beach or at the pool reading. After these past few months, we are just going to relax!

Jacquie, I've had a couple upper GI's. They're not too bad. When I've gone they put me in a gown. You drink the stuff(gross)and the place I go to has you start standing up and the table you lean against moves, so eventually you are laying down.
I don't have a Kindle, but I've been pricing the different models from Amazon, B&N, and Borders. Let me know how you like it.

My mother has a Kindle and she loves it, she reads a lot and always has it with her. The only draw back for her is that she can only order the books from the US Amazon site (we're in the UK so UK gift vouchers don't work)
Hope that you like it.

Hi Jacquie,

You so deserve to take some time to rest!!
I have the Nook and it's okay. I was wondering about the IPAD though - you can buy books for that as well but I don't know what the inventory looks like. The reason I like the IPAD is the screen lights up in the dark. I tend to read more in the evening and like a lighted screen. Not sure if the Kindle has that feature. If it does great.
I'm sure I'm up a couple pounds as well. I meant to weigh this morning but I was so intent on getting my day going. I'm getting lots of exercise with all the packing and up and down stairs so maybe it won't be too bad. But it is nice to be able to eat a little again!!!

I hope your test goes well. John gave me a Kindle for my birthday last year. I LOVE IT! It is terrific for traveling. I did buy a cover for it and a small light that will attach to the cover. You won't need the light too much unless you are riding in a dark car or something like that.

My hubby and I have been looking into an all inclusive for November. What week are you going? Have you been to the Sandals resort before? We're in the process of trying to figure out where to go so any help would be appreciated.

We just got my dad a kindle and he really likes it. My FIL uses his a lot because he travels for work, I think he reads the NYT on it too. A lot of people tried to get me to go with an iPad for the gift but I thought it would be too complicated (and way more expensive!) than the Kindle. So far, so good.

Your trips sound great, as do your workouts. I need to get moving on that!
