I am officially 60.2 lbs down from March 24, 2010! However, my husband thinks I am shortchanging myself and always insists that my weight was much higher at one point before lapband surgery and I should count my lbs lost from that weight. If that is the case.....I am officially down 81.4 lbs from my highest weight ever! So, in honor of my husband, who has truly been my #1 Cheerleader and Supporter throughout this journey, I am taking credit for all lbs. lost and changing my ticker to reflect this! (I will look for a picture of myself at my highest weight to post here but believe me, they are few and far between!)
Wow....I am very proud of myself. First and foremost, it really is me who did this. Actually, its me who got fat in the first place and its me who is rectifying that. Oh, along the way I've had help from W W (too many times to count), Jenny (at least 3 times) , Lapband, VSG, the gym and a whole bunch of support from my family, most friends and this Blog Community.
The bottom line is, at the end of the day, I am the only one in control of what goes in my mouth! I better keep up with the control as I am 2.6 lbs. away from my goal of 150 lbs!

Just send me the green light to blog a little about the plastic band becoming a sleeve..
Dear sweet Steve is right. You need to claim every last pound! You've earned that loss. Congrats to you Jacquie. I am so happy for you :)
Congratulations Jacquie!!! AMAZING!
I'm with Steve! You earned every single pound :)
Amazing!! So wonderful to have that support :) Yes, count every pound lost because you worked hard to lose them!
You truly are doing amazing! I definitely say count the extra 20 pounds. you worked hard before and after wls, so take credit for it!
You are allowed to count those extra pounds. I did have a higher number before my "official" start with the band which lets me say to others, I am down 50 pounds. My ticker though is just that. Something to show me the work I've done.
Just wanted to mention that I believe you did experience "dumping syndrome". It isn't just for those with gastric bypass. I've had it when I was on a low carb diet and then was allowed anything to eat for dinner. Well, I always picked carbs. About 20 minutes into eating, I got all sweaty, faint and felt like crap. It's similar to a diabetic who doesn't have their insulin regulated. So your doc may have laughed but it really can happen to normal people like us. I think the pancreas is so used to not making insulin and then this big sugar hit comes and it's gets all excited trying to step up production that it makes us feel whoozy. Well that's the story I used to tell my diabetic patients anyway.
And whether it is 10 or 40 or 60 or 80, each pound is a triumph. Congrats.
you go girly! your so close!
You're right... I should have a ticker for my overall weight loss too! We lost them, why shouldn't we claim each one that's gone!
Congratulations! The sleeve has changed my life!
